IS IT TIME TO “BITE” THE (PRIVATIZED FOOD)?

With the provincial budget imminent, the Saskatchewan Coalition Against Racism (SCAR) is shining the light on the Regina Chamber of Commerce “Make a Connection Reception” which is scheduled for June 2nd at the RCMP Heritage Centre. The “closed” reception is billed as a casual opportunity for Chamber members to meet senior government officials “to reaffirm good working relationships.”

“SCAR is left to consider if one of those ‘good working relationships’ is between the Wall government and the businessmen who received millions of taxpayers’ dollars in the inflated sale of land for the Global Transportation Hub (GTH),” stated  Bob Hughes. “Such financial waste in the face of cuts to education and other social programs in the upcoming budget raises serious questions about the nature of such ‘relationships’”.

SCAR is questioning, in light of the Wall government signing off on the sickeningly inflated GTH land purchase, if it might be time for the responsible government officials to attend a different “reception” and get a first hand taste of the “privatized food services’ menu at one of our provincial correctional centres.
